I absolutely love when I am really able to be creative with photography. Of course, I am able to in any type of photography session whether it be senior portraits or engagement photos, but it feels like there is so much more room for experimentation with boudoir photography and that is just one of the many reasons I am drawn to it.
Boudoir has a unique depth to it as it showcases a model in what could be a very vulnerable state for them. It combines threads of strength, intimacy, vulnerability, confidence, and bravery all in a series of images. High contrast images that toy with shadow and light, blacks and whites, and muted colors seem to do just that.
Perhaps even more so, I love boudoir photography because it is a great way to help empower someone. As someone with three sisters, seeing a woman feel confident, beautiful, and sexy is an amazing thing. Whether a boudoir session is a gift to yourself or for your significant other, helping you to feel good about your body is so important and so special to me.
